Hi everyone, my name is Angel Mojarro and I’ll be doing the first #MITDenmark takeover this week! I’m a 2nd-year Graduate student (and recent PhD candidate) in Geology, Geochemistry, and Geobiology (G3) @mit_eaps I’m spending #mymisti summer at the University of Copenhagen investigating how environment and microbial processes influence the preservation of biomarkers in the geologic record. To do this, I am analyzing ancient DNA and proteins at the Section for Evolutionary Genomics (under the supervision of Professor Matthew Collins) preserved in very young fish fossils collected from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. (Swipe left to see pictures from my recent fossil-hunting expedition and feel free to ask questions along the way)
